Performance Management & Training Specialist (Job #622)

Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking a highly skilled Performance Management & Training Specialist to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. This position focuses on developing and implementing strategies to optimize workforce performance while driving impactful training programs aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage performance management programs that align with organizational objectives and individual career goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement performance evaluation tools, metrics, and methodologies.
  • Provide coaching and training to managers on effective performance evaluation, feedback delivery, and goal-setting techniques.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to identify skill gaps and recommend targeted training solutions.
  • Design, deliver, and oversee training programs to enhance workforce competencies and operational excellence.
  • Maintain and improve performance tracking systems, ensuring accurate and actionable reporting for leadership.
  • Support organizational succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and recommending tailored development plans.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD policies and standards related to performance management and training initiatives.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of performance and training programs, using data-driven insights to recommend enhancements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (4 additional years experience may substitute).
  • 3+ years of experience in performance management, training program development, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of performance evaluation methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with DoD policies, procedures, and workforce standards.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and facilitation skills to engage with leadership and staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and performance management software.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline.
  • Certification in performance management or training (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, or ATD-CPTD).
  • Experience in designing and implementing DoD-specific performance and training initiatives.
  • Prior military experience or experience supporting DoD customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workforce performance data and deliver actionable insights.
