Administrative Assistant (Job #624)

Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external communications, handling inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Prepare, proofread, and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for both electronic and physical records.
  • Coordinate logistics for team meetings, conferences, and events, including preparing agendas and managing follow-up tasks.
  • Track and manage office supplies and requisition additional inventory as needed.
  • Support project teams by managing task assignments, monitoring deadlines, and providing administrative assistance as required.
  • Handle time-sensitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees by coordinating schedules, preparing materials, and ensuring a smooth integration process.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field (4+ additional years may subtitute)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Customer service mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience supporting DoD or government contracting environments.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools, expense reporting systems, or office management software.
  • Prior experience coordinating travel and handling travel expense reconciliations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
